Very interesting art commission…..

This commission definitely stretched and challenged me….it was one of those ‘I don’t think I can do this’ commissions when self doubt hits minutes after you have agreed to take on the commission!

First I dragged my feet…..then I basically hid my head in the sand by avoiding working on it. Then as the deadline loomed the commission whipped me into shape! I actually worked till 3am one very trying day!

But what a brilliant learning curve it was!!! Now I know the value of making ‘mock ups’!!!!!

I learnt a lot about myself though……I really love art and I’m very determined….(I need to stop doubting myself)

TikTok

I never thought the day would come….. but I have joined TikTok and I am loving posting content on there….surprisingly. I suppose it’s one of those ‘don’t knock it till you try it’ moments. Who knew? I had basically written off TikTok…..tsk tsk. Well, I stand corrected.

Performance poem titled ‘gossips ‘ I really enjoyed making this selfie video as well as editing my performance. Definitely planning to bring more of my poems to film!!!! Action art is such a vibe!!!!

Epiphany…

It has suddenly dawned on me…..that I prefer painting to making books! Should have been pretty obvious cos I spend so much time painting the paper before using the painted paper to make a book. Why not just paint onto canvas and voilà…done. I suppose I like to work things out…..always taking the long way […]

Sooooo restless……..

I brought my work home…..now I can’t sleep!!!! It’s 3 am and I’m itching to go paint!!!! Now I know why I hardly bring work home….(whenever I do I get restless). I just want to sleep but I also want to go sign my painting and apply one more isolation coat……aaarrrgggghhhh…..

Self portraits
